Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy describes the cookies and other tools used by www.horsenutrition.it (the "Site") and how to manage them, under EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy Directive).
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites send to the user's device (computer, tablet,
smartphone), where they are stored and sent back to the same sites on the next visit. Similar tools,
such as the browser's local storage (localStorage), serve the same purpose and follow
the same rules.
They allow websites to remember the user's actions and preferences for a period of time, so that they do not have to be entered again every time the site is visited or a new page is opened.
2. Types of cookies used
2.1 Technical (necessary) cookies
They are needed for the Site to work and to remember your choices. They do not require consent.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
hn_cookie_consent | horsenutrition.it |
Stores, in the browser's local storage (localStorage), the choice you made on the
banner, so that you are not asked on every page. It contains no identifier and does not
recognise you
| 6 months |
2.2 Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
They let us count visits and understand which pages are read most. The Site uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC.
These cookies are not stored until you consent. If you reject, or if you make no choice, Google's script is not even loaded: your browser does not contact Google and no identifier is saved on your device.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes visitors from one another | 2 years | |
_ga_3KDKY4QYCB | Keeps the state of the visit session | 2 years |
Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Google is a US company: if you consent, browsing data may also be processed outside the European Union, with the safeguards provided by Articles 44 et seq. of the GDPR.
2.3 Advertising profiling cookies
The Site does not use advertising profiling cookies. We do not collect information on your browsing habits in order to show you personalised advertising.
3. Third-party services
When you open a page of this Site, your browser does not contact any third party: fonts, style sheets, scripts (including the map library) and images are served directly by www.horsenutrition.it. This is a deliberate choice, because every resource loaded from an external provider would send it your IP address without you being able to prevent it.
A third party comes into play only in the cases below, and each depends on an action of yours. The links to WhatsApp and to social networks are plain links: until you open them, none of those services is contacted.
3.1 Google Analytics
Loaded only if you consent through the banner. See section 2.2.
3.2 The dealers map
On the Dealers page the map does not load by itself: in its place there is a panel with a "Load the map" button. Until you press it, no third party receives anything. If you press it, your browser downloads the map tiles from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, in the United Kingdom, which thus receives your IP address, under its own privacy policy. The map tiles do not set cookies.
The full list of dealers, with addresses and phone numbers, is always available on the page, even without loading the map.
3.3 The place search
On the Dealers page you can search for a place to see the nearest dealers. The search uses Nominatim, OpenStreetMap's address search service, and starts only when you type in the search field: the text you type and your IP address are sent to the OpenStreetMap Foundation. If you do not use the search, Nominatim is not contacted.
The "Find me" button, on the other hand, involves no third party: your location stays in your browser, as described in the Privacy notice.
3.4 The contact form
When you submit the contact form, the data passes through a service on a Hostinger server, which receives it and forwards it to us by e-mail. The form does not set tracking cookies. How we process the data you send us is described in the Privacy notice.
4. How to change your choices
You can change the choice you made on the banner at any time, without having to write to us:
If you withdraw your consent, Google Analytics is no longer loaded from the next page onwards. You can delete cookies already stored by Google from your browser settings, as shown below. In any case you are asked again after 6 months.
